Singapore EXPO & MAX Atria -
Advisory on COVID-19
(Coronavirus DISEASE 2019)

ADVISORY UPDATED: 11 May 2020
Singapore -
Advisory Update on 8 May 2020

COMMUNITY CARE FACILITY @
SINGAPORE EXPO & MAX ATRIA

Enhanced Safety Measures

The team at the CCF is heartened by everyone’s care and concern over recent reports of COVID-19 cases at Singapore EXPO & MAX Atria affecting 4 healthcare workers. Thank you for your well wishes.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has since confirmed that 3 of the 4 cases are negative, while the 4th case has been discharged. For more information, please refer to Go.gov.sg/moh10may.

The CCF continues to adhere to stringent levels of hygiene and infection control, with the well-being and safety of everyone at the facility, both personnel and residents, as our priority. Additional measures to ensure the continued safety of everyone have also been implemented. These include:

● Compulsory use of SafeEntry from 12th May for everyone entering and exiting Singapore EXPO & MAX Atria. SafeEntry is a national digital check-in system by the Government Technology Agency (GovTech) currently used by over 10,000 locations in Singapore, and complements the nationwide contact-tracing efforts.

● Ensuring proper PPE usage, refresher PPE training and minimising entry or number of staff entering the Red Zone.

● Identifying hot-spots and timings where people will gather in groups at common areas, such as smoking areas, lifts, shift changes, co-working spaces, and communal facilities like toilets, and placing signages and markings in these areas as reminders to practice safe distancing.

● Frequency for sanitisation of general areas will be stepped up including quick response for disinfection cleaning should there be cases.

● Safe distancing ambassadors will be deployed daily in both zones to further ensure discipline and to complement the signages around the area.

● Strict segregation of all teams working at the facility and spaced out team shifts to enforce safe behaviour.

● Facility-wide audit checks will be conducted regularly to ensure all teams are complying and keeping safe.

We assure you that safety remains a top priority for Singapore EXPO & Max Atria, and for the CCF. We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust these measures accordingly.

Thank you once again for your support and well wishes.

COMMUNITY CARE FACILITY @
SINGAPORE EXPO & MAX ATRIA

Patient Care & Goodwill Offerings

Since 10 April 2020, Singapore EXPO & MAX Atria has been repurposed as a Community Care Facility (CCF) for recovering COVID-19 patients. The CCF, which is co-managed by a number of agencies, is operational 24-hours a day, with most personnel working on shifts, on the frontline and side-lines caring for patients.

We understand and appreciate that there are many organisations and members of the public who wish to donate items and offer services towards the patients’ care and to help alleviate the operations of the CCF. Some have demonstrated an outpouring of goodwill and dropped off bags of items that were unfortunately not suitable for the CCF’s needs, and additional manpower had to be allocated to sort through the items.

While the team at the CCF is heartened by everyone’s care and kind thoughts, the CCF also needs to adhere to stringent levels of hygiene and infection control, with the well-being and safety of everyone at the facility, both personnel and residents, as our priority.

Please note that the CCF is currently not soliciting for donations and we strongly urge everyone to clarify with us first before proceeding with any donation drive or to bring any items down to the Facility. Or you may refer to the FAQ prepared by the CCF team for items that may be accepted by our partners (pending their review).

To help us consolidate all queries and requests, you may write in to sgunited@singaporeexpo.com.sg. Please note that we aim to respond within 5 working days as requests have to be taken up to the CCF team for discussion before decisions can be made, and seek your kind understanding if there are delays as the health of patients and the security and operations of the CCF is our priority.

We thank you once again for your kindness and generosity in these times.
Let us try our best to stay home and stay safe, so that we can overcome this together, sooner.

Advisory Update on 05 April 2020

SINGAPORE EXPO & MAX ATRIA REPURPOSED
AS A COMMUNITY CARE FACILITY

Dear Visitors,

Singapore is at a critical juncture in its fight against COVID-19. As a public facility, Singapore EXPO & MAX Atria stands ready to support Singapore’s healthcare system through its conversion into a Community Care Facility (CCF).

It is the first time in its history that the venue is being repurposed. The Ministry of Health announced on 5 April 2020 that the venue will be converted into a fully operational facility to isolate and provide care for patients who are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

To prepare for this, Singapore EXPO & MAX Atria will be closed to the public from Tuesday, 7 April 2020. As a CCF, it will be a restricted area with secure entry points for on-site operational staff cleared for access.

The health and well-being of everyone who passes through our doors, including our tenants, service partners and staff, remains our priority. We are implementing strict entry and work infection control measures and precautions guided by advisories from the Singapore Government and will adjust them accordingly with the evolving COVID-19 situation.

We are proud to support Singapore’s efforts to contain the outbreak and share the load of our healthcare community. Let us all remain vigilant and play our part to prevent further community spread, and keep our loved ones safe.
